Nickel-aluminum bronze alloys are renowned for their excellent corrosion resistance in seawater and many other chemical environments. This corrosion resistance relies on the formation of a copper/aluminum oxide film, which can self-repair even in low-oxygen media.
This oxide layer has the following benefits:
Nickel-aluminum bronze alloys can be considered for the following chemicals, with operational temperature, concentration, usage conditions, and impurities taken into account during selection.
Pulp and Paper Industry
Nickel-aluminum bronze is used in the paper industry, where it comes into contact with low concentrations of hypochlorite and sulfite in the pulp. It exhibits excellent corrosion resistance under these conditions and can be used to manufacture pulping rods, valves, and suction rollers.
Glass Industry
In the glass industry, nickel-aluminum bronze is used for frosted glass, leveraging its corrosion resistance in hydrofluoric acid. In this industry, hydrofluoric acid is sprayed onto bulbs using nickel-aluminum bronze nozzles.
Aerospace
Nickel-aluminum bronze alloys C63000 AMS 4640, C95510 AMS 4880, C63020 AMS 4590, and C95520 AMS 4881 are used for landing gear bushings. Their excellent bearing performance, combined with corrosion resistance in saline environments during winter runway de-icing, makes these alloys ideal for this application.
At YOBEST (YBT) METAL, we offer the following nickel-aluminum bronze alloys, available in bar form and fully machined components:
